Finding Home is a SSHRC-funded international research-creation collaboration bringing together academics, artists and migrants from Toronto (CA), London (UK) and Sydney (AU) to explore the complex intersection between forced migration and new place-making strategies through art and storytelling.

Forced migration refers to coerced movements of refugees and internally displaced people as well as people displaced by unjust laws, environmental disasters, famine, or development projects.

Placemaking refers to ways that citizens claim, use, and shape public space.

Border Trouble: Migration, Research Creation, Art & Policy, a 4-day online symposium April 26-29

We are thrilled to share that we will be hosting an online symposium between April 26-29, 2021 entitled, Border Trouble: Migration, Research Creation, Art & Policy. The symposium will include round tables on research creation and policymaking, a panel on journalism and human rights, and a workshop on migrant-led art initiatives.

Upcoming Workshop Series: Where Am I Home?

In January 2021, we began hosting our fourth workshop series for LGBTQ+ refugees, in partnership with the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto.
